Now that KOKO has launched the world’s first smart distribution network for Ethanol Cooking Fuel, we want to open it up to allow customers to use this clean, low-cost fuel in any capable appliance beyond KOKO’s own two-burner stove.
First, we know how diverse our target markets are. One appliance is not enough to meet the needs of different households, SMEs, and industrial customers.
Second, we know the versatility of Ethanol fuel to safely and efficiently power a wide range of energy appliances. KOKO’s world-first technologies, delivered in partnership with the downstream fuels industry, significantly reduce the last-mile distribution costs of serving end-users at scale.
Finally, we strongly believe in the potential for global and local innovators to come up with amazing new products, for which they should retain their IP.
Whether the new appliance is a stove, an oven, a heater, or any other high-quality energy appliance – as long as it runs on KOKO Fuel, we’re ready to explore supporting it.
Specifically, KOKO will offer two technical approaches for partnership:
1) Partners can license our SmartValve technology, so that the KOKO Canister fits directly into their appliance, enabling easy, vapor-tight refilling;
2) For products where adding a SmartValve is not feasible, we will supply a Canister attachment that enables users to pour fuel out of the KOKO Canister like a regular bottle.
In both cases, Customers will be able to refill their Canisters at any local KOKO Point for the same low price as KOKO Cooker customers.
Regardless of the technical approach chosen, KOKO Appliance Partners can take advantage of a wide range of business support services from KOKO, including help with the Design, Pilot Testing, Certification, Mass Manufacturing, Marketing, Distribution and Sale of their appliances.
As we finalize terms for the KOKO Appliance Partnership program, we’re inviting one or two parties to begin exploratory discussions with us before we formally roll-out the program in 2020.
Ultimately, KOKO’s interest is to drive innovation in the Ethanol ecosystem, generating an attractive return in terms of increased fuel flow through our networks, and even greater social and environmental benefits than those delivered by the KOKO Cooker.
