After recently being announced as the winner of the 2022 Keeling Curve Prize, Team KOKO today celebrated another milestone, with our clean fuel and carbon platform now serving over 550,000 household subscribers in Kenya.
Our Greater Nairobi Network is operating at scale, and continuing to grow, while we've also seen strong demand in the new markets we've entered: Mombasa, Kisumu and (most recently) Nakuru.
We are committed to growing our Networks in Kenya to reach as many households as possible. At the same time, with numerous emerging markets facing record high charcoal prices and negative social and environmental impacts from increasing deforestation, KOKO is also exploring new markets abroad. Earlier this year, we announced a $25m investment agreement with the Government of Rwanda to bring KOKO's proven technology to consumers across Rwanda in the world's first nation-wide clean fuel utility.
