KOKO today welcomed the 150,000th household customer onto its clean fuel platform in Nairobi.
KOKO's rapid sales growth has continued in recent months, with customers responding well to its next generation bioethanol cooking solution, available at less than half the price of competing modern solutions.
KOKO Fuel is ultra-low-carbon renewable bioethanol that is available from a dense Network of KOKO Fuel ATMs inside local shops a short walk from home. Customers can purchase fuel in the small daily quantities that are often preferred in the informal sector.
Kenyan customer demand has already outstripped the production capacity of KOKO's first manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India, and investment into its second facility is well underway, with commissioning on track for Q3 2021.
The combined facilities of 120,000 square feet have a production capacity of over 50,000 KOKO Cooker kits per month, as KOKO prepares to expand its offering in Kenya and new markets.
